Default Sending a pic as a text message

How do you send a picture as a text or SMS message? The only options are to send it as a MMS message or email? I have VZW if it makes a difference.

Thanks.

You don't send pictures as a text, it becomes an MMS.

I just tried it twice and it wouldn't go through. I got a red "X" in my message window both times.

I'm trying to send it to another VZW customer that has a new Samsung phone with pic messaging enabled.

Call Verizon they probably don't have it provisioned on your acccount, the same thing happened to me the other day.

Thanks. That's exactly what it was. You would think VZ would enable pic and video messaging automatically.
