To make a long story short, I ended up tossing my Pearl in with a load of laundry. I dried it out for a couple days and finally lost all hope. So I ended up calling Rogers and getting another Pearl for only $80 (another very long story, but need less to say I've been a customer for a very long time and dump loads of money into their laps). So for shits and giggles I tried to power up my laundered Pearl today to no avail. I decided to see what would happen if I attempted to charge it up again. A couple hours later I came back to see that it works absolutely fine! So now I have 2 8100's in great condition. But now I'm thinking I should sell the both of them (I have no idea what I could get for them) and get the 8800. Now this may be the wrong forum for this question, but I was looking to see what you guys thought. Out of all the cell phones I've ever owned, or used, the Pearl far surpasses any of them. I was wondering if it was worth the trouble to try the 8800. Any thoughts/ suggestions?

Had a similar experience w/an H700 BT headset...but, thought it initially charged up and worked, it was really never fully dependable. Would not hold charge reliably, sometimes would just not work for a day or so.

Give it some time and use to ensure you really have a fully functioning unit.

And, ethically, you must tell anyone you sell your laundered Pearl to what it went through to get so sparkly clean.

After the dryer cycle, it worked perfectly! lol

And the watermark is certainly discolored so you'd have to disclose that and sell it as "damaged goods". You probably wouldn't get much for it, spare parts maybe. That's cool that it works at all.

Yeah the watermark on the battery has x's through it. It sounds a though I won't get very much for it selling it as damaged. I didn't even think to put it through the drying cycle! haha Maybe I'm better off keeping it and using it for parts. It was all just a thought...
