Default Contact exchange and calendar issues

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

Appreciate help on two issues:

Contact sharing:
Is there a simple way to share a contact from one BB to another? (i) if I want to do this only for 1-2 contacts (ie not to echange an entire address book). (ii) Can one get entire address books to synch, keep the unique contacts on each? i.e not to overwrite from one to another?

(BBs that I need to do this for are 8700->8100 or vice versa, if that makes a difference.)

Calendar
My BB uses BES so I get my lotus notes calendar form my office wirelessly synched over. Is there a way to do somethging similar (but not with notes) on a non-BES BB? My wife uses use BIS to get her Yahoo and gmail email on the BB, but has not been using a calendar. I understand Google's calendar is good, but the wirelEss synch option (if available) would determine what we go with.

thanks

You should be able to send a contact from the BB to another recipient as an attachment...go to the contact and press the BB button, select 'Send as attachment' to the person you want to give the contact to. I haven't tried this myself, but it should work...I believe they'll get a Vcard they can load into Outlook.

I use wired (usb) sync for outlook tasks and contacts to my BB (I'm on BIS), but don't know about wireless sync w/Gmail as I don't use that calendar.

I can do this on the 8100, but not on the 8700 (no option to send as attachment available). Also, since we are not using Outlook, is there an alternative?

Appreciate any thoughts on this, as well as the other issues above,

thanks

I think to send an address as an attatchment you might need the upgraded o.s. 4.2.
