Default Got an unlocked Cingular pearl running with T-Mobile.

Please Login to Remove!

Basically, my boss gave me a BB Pearl made for cingular. I have T-mobile. Currently the phone works, i can make calls and send messages and what have you, however i don't seem to be able to use the maps feature and i don't know what else i'm missing. Am i missing any tools i'd need/want from t-mobile? Any clue?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Do you have a BB data plan?

Is "data connection refused" displayed at top of homescreen

does the mail and minutes plan have free nights and weekends? One thing i noticed about all the plans on the website is all of them had N/A for.... every single option.

Also, i realize i should get the tmobile plan, but is that going to change anything on my Cingular phone? Does the cingular pearl have programs/options that can't be used with tmobile?

I'll be doing the same thing soon. Did you unlock your themes or anything?

I just punched in the unlock code (cingular emailed it to me). I have themes to use, but i was just wondering if the programs on the phone are compatible with tmobile

I would think, that because most of them are Java that you should be able to run them.

I'll be doing this very same thing before long, although I'm going from an AT&T Pearl to TMO.

My gf isn't adjusting her plan, she's using myFaves currently. Just going to drop her SIM in once I get the subsidy unlock.

IF she wants data, we'll figure it out when we reach that path.

I'd imagine you'd have to change your data access settings? They're probably still pointing to Tmobiles servers, not AT&T's.

I just finished moving my ATT Pearl to TMO. The only thing that doesn't work is the IM function. It says the phone is not a TMO phone. I suspect it's reading the vendor code burned into the Pearl so it won't work. Everything else works fine (though the browser and startup splash screens obviously say ATT). Also, the ATT theme is still the default due to the vendor code burned into the device. There are posts here on how to get the Tmobile themes to show up.

Good to know. I guess if my girl wants IM I'll just buy her Jivetalk or something. Did you set the APN up for TMO, vs AT&T? I imagine that would help.. ya. It's weird that the IMs would be vendor specific.
