Hello!
I got a Blackberry Pearl about a month ago. One day I was annoyed with getting double emails. Emails were coming to my Messages and email icon. I wanted just regular text messages in my Messages, so I deleted all the emails in that folder. But it also deleted them all from the email folder! That was December 1st, and I have not received an email to my Blackberry since then. I'm not sure what happened.

So I have two questions. How can I set up my emails to come back to my Blackberry? And also, is there a way to have them go just into the email folder? It's frustrating to think I got a text message when it turns out to be just an email...and vice versa!!

I have tried several things, I re-registered my email account, I went to the Host Routing Table...I'm having a hard time understanding what to do, and nothing is working so far.

When I try to do the email setup, I get the message "The selected server returned an error when attempting to fufill your request." I do have a new icon that I'm pretty sure I never noticed before. It says SMS and MMS...how is that any different from the Messages one?

im new to this as well but I would say try the setup wizard again and maybe you can do the email through that if it will let you do it a second time? then for sms and email if you go into messages and then click the menu button and click on options and i think general options...you can select to separate sms and email. hope that helps.

Ok, Unless you are on one of the very latest Operating Systems 4.3 you will not be able to seperate the Text and Email. You have a main message folder that holds all messages, from all email acccounts and text, mms, etc. When you set up an email account using BIS it will create an Icon and a folder that contains mail for only that account but please not this folder is just a view INTO your master message folder.

Not receiving emails... try a battery pull first (while the phone is one). Then login to your BIS account via a PC or handset and resend service books. As far as the Host Routing Tables when you are in the folder, hit menu and then Register Now. It will log you into RIMS servers and send you a message when it's done. If all that fails please report back.

2 and 3-Your email will come to both the email specific folder AND the main messages folder. You can't change that. But you can separate out the SMS/MMS with a separate folder, it appears you have found that.

Although I am sure OS versoin 4.2 will separate out your SMS/MMS from the main message folder.

I tried steps 1 and 2, but no luck.

Then I tried to log into the BIS (after I did a search to figure out what BIS meant! lol) but it said I needed to register. So I did, but it said, "Your account is not accsessible via HTML browser. Please use your device to access Blackberry Internet Service."

But now I don't know how to do that!

Just call the carrier and ask them to resend your service books for the account. Also ask them how you can access in the future via PC.
