I'm interested in this too. The Pearl supports Composed Unicode (Unicode Txxx7893; Hxxx7907;p) as opposed to Pre-composed Unicode (Unicode Dxxx7921;ng Sxxx7861;n). I edited my Vietnamese contact entries in Outlook using Composed Unicode output setting on the Vietnamese Keyboard Driver, and sync'd the contacts on my Pearl. The accent marks on the contact names display correctly on the Pearl.

HOWEVER, somehow some contact names make the phone unstable. Whenever I want to edit that contact's info on the phone or try to delete it, the phone reboots. I eventually had to nuke (wipe) the phone and enter the contacts using the normal 7-bit ASCII.
