Question Sure Type Off?

Please Login to Remove!

After several months, I throughly enjoy my new 8100, but now I have a minor problem.

Somehow I turned off the sure type option (probably by some short cut on the keypad), and now my unit wants to me to tap the key twice for the 2nd letter, and I can't turn it back on.

Went to the help menu on the unit, but failed to find what I was looking for (went to settings> options>SMS text>and the only thing that looked like help was the auto text disable field (it WAS clicked on).

Searches on the BB under sure type returned 17 pages of stuff but the title of none of those threads told me my answer wasn't gonna be found in THERE.

To say the least my this has been quite annoying the last few days, cos I was USE to sure type. I need someone to rescure me.

Go into edit mode on anything (composing an email, for example) and hold the * key for a few seconds. When you do that, the ABC in the top right corner will go away, and you can then use the SureType again.

I wouldn't recommend that but to each his own!

While composing a message hit Menu>Enable Multitap

Good Luck!

You should update your profile then! Ok, you should be able to add the word to your Custom Word list or Auto-text if you want to type something shorter.

Menu>Options>Custom Word List

Good luck!

on suretype if you type the word once correctly and hit space after it, it will automatically be saved in your word list. the more frequently you type it, the farther up the list of possible letter combinations is moves

suretype is the "balls", I moved from the LG VX-8700 (I cursed the phone day in and day out" to the Pearl 8130. I've never been happier with a phone in my life. P.S. - All hail BlackberryForums.com, an amazing network of people. Thank you.
