Default Bluetooth headset issues on BB 8130?

Please Login to Remove!

Boy, I heard my wife complained about her 8830 bluetooth will turn itself off when paired with Plantronics, and some other ones. Now I am having the same issues with my 8130, the phone will just turn off it's bluetooth from 30sec to 10 minutes. and it's so annoying. I also tried another bluetooth from Motorola same thing.. What's wrong with BBs? Anyone experience similar issues with their 8130s VZW or Sprint? I am puzzled and don't know which one to use.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

What are your Bluetooth headset settings set to? I typically set the Trusted parameter to Yes and disable Encryption.

I've had zero issues w/BT turning off when using a headset, longest I've listened is an hour or so. Using the Sprint .71 OS release on my VZW Pearl.

I haven't changed any defaults, except to ensure that the device is listed as trusted. Using the

I had the same problem with the 8830 and reported it based on testing of pre-release units. The problem wasn't fixed until an update months after the unit was released.

I'm seeing this again now with the 8130. When paired JUST with my Jabra Bt500 I don't see much issue often , but when it gets near my car it happens without fail. I use the VZW Pearl.

Thanks for the suggestion, I am going to try and see if it helps. I thought my phone was defective. But I heard others has the same issue and my wife's 8830 also suffered the same problem so I assume its more of a blackberry issue.

Has this issue been resolved yet? My dad and I are having issues with our Blackberries (both the 8130, software version 4.3.0.97, it is the latest) where we will have the blackberry connected to a bluetooth headset (we both have the Jawbone bluetooth headset, but we've had the issue with other headsets too) and the bluetooth on the phone will turn itself off after a certain amount of time of having the headset connected. My dad has even gotten a different phone from the one that he had initially and it is still having the issue. He called Verizon and the woman he talked to suggested he turn on gps, which I don't think would make any difference, we don't even have the VZNavigator service. We are both at a bit of a loss as to what the issue could be... any guesses?

This issue hasn't been resolved yet. RIM tells me they never heard of the problem. I resolved it by turning the Blue LED back on. It worked for many people ...Did you try that yet?

I have a Plantronics Voyager 510 paired to my Pearl 8130 and I have problems with it.

It doesn't ever become unpaired, but while I'm on a conversation, anyone on the other end says it sounds like I am fading in and out during the convo. It's highly annoying, so much that I've stopped using the headset altogether because I can't rely on people hearing me.

I have used this headset with 3 other phones and it works great 100% of the time.

Definitely something wrong with bluetooth on these phones.
