Default whats the diff between the dataplan and the internet on the bb8100?

Please Login to Remove!

and if get the dataplan..
and take it off does the maps still work?

The BlackBerry Data Plan is what allows your BlackBerry device to access the internet. With a BlackBerry Data Plan, you can use your BlackBerry Web Browser, Email, BlackBerry Messenger, BlackBerry Maps, etc.

If you remove the data plan, all of the above stops working.
