Because they take up space and don't offer any value to the discussion. It also makes it difficult to view the thread on a mobile device, or any machine with a slow internet connection.

Because they are useless. Everyone already knows what the pearl looks like so they provide 100% zero information.

Not a very nice welcome to the forum...

Glad you've joined us, Oxygen.

There's no "setting" for best viewing of web pages, per se...you should be able to use it fine w/default settings.

You can also try the Opera Mini browser for the BB...I believe the link is www.operamini.com? It has some different features and options from the stock browser.

Look in the Aftermarket Software forum here for more info on other SW available for your new toy.

Also, check out the links at the top of this page for the Sprint OS upgrade available for the Pearl 8130.

And finally, review the Blackberry FAQ (link at the top of this page) for tons of info on your BB.

I've heard lots of good things about the speed and quality of Opera so i'm thinking about adding it. But i've read that there may be extra data charges. Is this true??

No...there are no extra data charges for using alternative programs for data access on your Pearl....your Verizon data plan covers anything you do (up to 5 GB a month, before they'll start throttling down your data speed).
