Default Battery low

Please Login to Remove!

I have a blackberry Pearl 8130.

Last night i plugged in the phone the entire night. The phone battery was fully charged. I got into the car this morning and plugged in the batter as i drove to work. I have not used my phone the entire day. I just checked my phone and the battery power was almost at 0. Again i repeat, i have not used my phone the entire day.
What the hell is going on?
Does this make sense.
The batter supposed to have standby time of 9 days? Mine barely last nine hours.
Is this batter defected?

Is only makes sense if you have a number of applications running in the background, such as an active web browser page, JiveTalk, or a gps app.

Press ALT and ESCAPE. Do you see such as those running? You should always see icons in this taskbar for the homescreen, phone, addressbook, BBMessenger, and the browser (just make sure it is not on an active page).

That is likely your problem.

Default battery

It sounds to me like you have a major problem. You either need to check for any apps running or you need to take it to where you got it and get a new battery it this continues.

Could also be caused in part by another possibility (which can affect any Verizon phone negatively) is that your phone is struggling to find a solid EVDO (1XEV on your phone) connection...if it hunting for that connection it will eat the battery very quickly.

But your situation sounds very bad, and not at all what you should expect.

if your browser opens to the bookmarks page, it is good. Close it.

If it opens to an active, on a site, page, press menu and close. Often an "active" webpage is updating, getting and transmitting data, etc., and that will run the battery down. Read the link above, great info and help.

ensure you only use bluetooth when needed. that can drain your battery a lot.

I'm not so sure this is a big issue on the 8130. I have mine and my wife's on 24*7, and neither of us have battery life problems.

Ditto. I obviously does cause "some" drain. I leave my BT on all day, without issue.
