Question What is Holster and Auto Answer

Please Login to Remove!

I have the Blackberry Pearl 8100, and it did not come with anything that even remotely looks like a holster. I have a skin case that I put around it, but that is it.

The reason I ask, is that I have a new headphone add-on for my snowboarding helmet, and it has 2 audio jacks, one for mobile phone, one for audio device. However, for it to work, the phone has to be on auto answer mode. This is especially true since my phone is buried underneath layers of clothing while I am speeding down the mountain.

I'd like to be able to answer the phone when using this setup, especially if its a friend asking me where I am at, or checking to see if I am on my way to the resort restaurant for lunch.

So far, my searching has pointed to there not being true "auto answer" available for the Pearl, but its such an old and basic feature on mobile phones, I am having trouble believing it. Help!

Thank You,

JohnG

Holster is any device that allows you to store your BB attached to your belt or some other loop. There's plenty of places that sell them online. Just google it. The nice thing is that they usually have a magnet and is sometimes called a "sleeper" switch. The BB can sense this and behave differently when it is in the holster or not.

Auto-answer should be something you should be able to turn on. On my 8310 it is an option from the Phone screen.
