Default Blackberry 8130 Built-In GPS: Get more functionality

Please Login to Remove!

Blackberry Pearl 8130 has built-in GPS features.
Would you like to know what true GPS can really give you?

What is GPS
GPS is the Global Positioning System. It is the satellite-based positioning technology that allows a GPS receiver to identify its location anywhere on Earth. It allows GPS receiver users to determine precise coordinates for their location on the Earth's surface.

What advantage can you take of GPS?
You can add more useful functions to your Blackberry, such as:
* record tracks of your trips anywhere on the Earth from your BlackBerry. Your tracks will be traced on Google Maps and stored in an online archive or in your BlackBerry.
* show to your friends the instant position on a map when you are traveling
* map digital photos precisely at a place they were taken. It doesnít matter if the photos are captured with your Blackberry or another digital camera.

How to?
Step 1. You would need to download GPSed Blackberry application.
You can download it directly to your Blackberry OTA at: GPSed.com - GPS tracking from your mobile
or download it to your PC at Download GPSed mobile application - Mobile GPS Tracking Service and install via BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

GPSed BlackBerry application is absolutely free.

Step 2.
Sign up to GPSed online service at:
Register new account - Mobile GPS Tracking Service
Itís free and easy.

You can find more information about GPSed at:
About - Mobile GPS Tracking Service

GPSed Blackberry application and Online Service are now in public beta, so we are waiting for your feedback.

Of course, built in GPS shouldn't be locked.

As for Verizon subscribers, only Verizon can help them with this, alas

Actually you do not need to have data connect in order to write tracks.
But data connection is required for sending tracks to GPSed Online Service.

I will also find out more detailed information about GPSed functioning without data connection and post here.
