Default Using BlackBerry overseas (not in US)

Please Login to Remove!

So I have an unlocked blackberry, and I will be in the Czech Rep. from Feb - May. I want to get a sim card, obviously, so i get free incoming calls. I have this question...If i get a dataplan over there somehow, can i still use BBMessenger for "free" when talking to people in the US?

also, if anyone is actually from Czech Rep/that area, what's the best plan for someone who just wants text messaging and free incoming calls (and a data plan if the BBMessenger works like that)

BB messenger uses only data. any unlimited plan will have unlimited BBM, otherwise it takes out of the bucket of data

The trick is getting a data plan there. Once your are connected to the Internet it doesn't care where the message is going.

And it doesn't matter if the carrier supports the pearl specifically? Or that the other person is on a different network?

(i know it works just through the internet, but i don't know how tricky or whatever the cell phone companies might be...because they're out to just make money so i don't know if they added a "safeguard" or something to prevent doing this)

If you can get the data plan (big if) then you'll be able to use BBMessenger.
