Awaiting the software - but not too excited about watching my slingbox over an EDGE connection. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised.

Plus, with what we pay for data in Canada, I have a feeling that this might be an experience I can not afford to have too much.

Still excited about their announcement though.

After looking at Steve Jobs keynote yesterday, he broke down the smartphone market share. RIM was the clear leader (approx. 40%) with Palm only having 9% - so I am not sure how the Palm OS treo version of Slingbox viewer got priority over the Blackberry version.

If you are currently a SlingBox user, go here to sign up for their public beta --> https://beta.slingmedia.com/login.html

Sadly, I am not a slingbox user...

You can sign up w/o having a sling box. It doesn't as you any specific questions about your slingbox when you are signing up except which model do you have.

Actually, it does ask for some of that info when you sign up. There are "additional" items it asks for. I wouldn't count on being selected for beta if you don't even have a slingbox.

The additional items are optional, it does say you increase you chances of getting selected by adding the additional information, which includes the Sling ID#.
