Default BB Pearl won't ring anymore!

Please Login to Remove!

I've had my Pearl for about six months, and I noticed yesterday it stopped ringing. Even if I have it on Loud, it won't ring. I checked the advanced settings and I have everything on, nothing on mute. I don't listen to any music on it, or use a headset with it. I've taken out the battery, waited 10 seconds and put it back on, about 3 times already. Nothing works, my emails notify with a vibrate, but now even my text messges won't vibrate. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, how did you fix it?
Thanks for your help!!

Can you make a call on the speaker phone? Place a call and activate speaker phone? Does it work? If not your speaker may be shot. Otherwise it's most likely a setting. Which profile is selected at the Top is it "Normal" or perhaps "Silent" or "Vibrate".

If you need to check your profile settings review the link below and make sure that the profile you validate is the active profile.

Good Luck and let us know!

"can you play any media files through the speakerphone?"
Sorry, you mean music? I really haven't even tried playing any music on my files, (I guess I'm not taking full advantage of it??)
But, yesterday my speaker was not working, I couldn't hear anything out of it, I tried again right now and it worked fine....

We are trying to see if the speaker (not the ear piece) is working. It may be why your phone isn;t making a sound. Can you make a call and while talking hit Menu>Activate Speaker Phone? Can you hear the persons voice without putting the phone to your ear?

If it's not working and your device is under warranty take it back to the carrier. If it's out of warranty you can buy parts if you are a do it yourself kinda person.

Default Pearl Ringtones

There's a massively long set of instructions to set the ringtones for various aspects of the BlackBerry Pearl 8100. Basically, if you have the Enterprise Server version as it is shipped it doesn't ring at all!

I found the answer at the link below and it all works fine now. No need to edit trackball settings, just make sure that it is set to ring when holstered.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8130: BlackBerry8130/4.3.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

i had kind of the same problem. Well, i still do. When i would get a sms text with the phone on the vibrate profile, it wouldnt vibrate. And when i went to edit the profile, it wouldnt let me into the sms text one. It just didnt do a thing when i clicked it. So i went into a profile i dont use (phone only) and changed everything to vibrate. So its my new vibrate profile until a new os comes out which hopefully will fix it.

Unhappy Blackberry Pearl 8110 will no longer ring or play music

I have only had my pearl for a few weeks, and just now realized it no longer rings.

For the past two or three mornings the alarm has not been sounding - which is irritating as it is my alarm clock.

Also, when people call me, the phone vibrates twice as custom but does not ring.

When i try to listen to ringtones or the demo music (I have yet to upload music of my own) the hourglass turns for minutes and minutes but no sound ever comes.

However, when I press keys, sounds still come. And when i activate my speaker phone, I can hear the voices from the speaker.

I have already been through all the profile settings and everything is set to loud. And I don't know how to fix this problem. Please help.

Have you done a battery pull? My wife's did this and a battery pull solved it. Remember to have the phone ON when you pull the battery.
