My BB 8130 indicated the battery was low. I used the wall charger, but it didn't seem to work. First the spinning hour glass appeared on the screen, then a pic of a battery with a lightening bolt through it appeared, the message "battery drained - shutting down" appeared and then the screen goes blank. There is no blinking indicator light that I used to receive in the past when the BB was charging. Any ideas? I'm thinking that I need to replace my battery. I just received this "replacement" BB last month. Always charged my battery. Never had any problems before.

I have a similar problem. Plug in my wall charger and get the hour glass...Have to unplug it to make a call. Any ideas why I am having this problem.

Are you able to charge via usb? That might be able to help you determine if it is the phone or the charger. Have you tried another charger?

i did this a few times, waited it out a few hours, and i got the hourglass and in a few more hours i had a working blackberry.

note: you will lose all your data, so i hope you have it backed up.

I don't think it is a charger issue. Try n connect it to the computer n see if u get the same thing (hourglass, need to unplug to do anything). If u do, call 611, it is either a weird software issue, or a problem with the phone

I had the dreaded lightening bolt battery, fortunately my battery was acting weird a month ago so I had bought a new one. Of course once I received the new battery it began to function normally so I figured I had a new battery just in case. Tonight when it started acting up again I replaced the battery and all is well in the world again.
