Just bought a 8100 for the explicit reason of using as a phone and to synchronise with my email, calendar and address book on my desktop - Not through enterprise server.

Anyone know how I can do this.....calendar, address book ok

I cant synchronise with desktop through USB.

Yes you can sync through usb.

You won't be able to synchronize emails. Emails don't synchronize using the Desktop Manager.

You must have a BB Data Plan. It does not have to be BES. You can use BIS (free push emails of up to 10 accounts) or the Desktop Redirector. But you must have the plan to use it.
