Default No belt clip for 8130?

Please Login to Remove!

What happened to the standard plastic cases for BlackBerry's? I certainly appreciate the leather case that is included but it appears to be more for a ladies' purse vs. a man's belt. Not prudent to carry in my pocket...any other good options? Even dislike the 8830 case.....hate the flip over style....

Anything you find for the 8100 will work on the 8130.

Have you checked Seido for the plastic launcher-style clip?

For pocketing, the best two options (IMHO) are:

1. Pearl silicone case (has a really nice soft feel and provides some needed grip to the slick Pearl housing) - here's a pic: Blackberry Pearl 8130 Silicone Skin Cover Case Black (A)

I suspect that Sprint sells them, I got mine from Verizon. About $10.

2. BestSkinsEver screen protector from RIM BlackBerry 8130 Pearl Skin (Verizon, Sprint).
$4.99.

With this combo you can carry in your pocket w/no worries about any scratches/damage, and in the event of a drop the silicone case provides some cushion, and the screen protector protects against scratches.

Really like this combo...

on the skins be careful to get one for the 8120 or 8130 because the 8130 has the side loading media card slot and the second speaker on the back.

I bought a plastic holster clip for my 8130 from Verizon and really like it. It isn't bulky and the phone is very easy to take in and out of the clip.

Yeah the no clip thing has been a problem since any of the 8xxx devices came out. I have NO IDEA why RIM stopped including this. It's stupid.

Anyway, you should really check Blackberry Pearl 8130 Accessories, Blackberry 8130 Accessories, Blackberry 8130 Cases, Blackberry Pearl 8130 Cases for 8130 devices. Like someone else mentioned if you are buying anything other than a pouch/holster make sure its for an 8120/8130 type devices.

I am like you and want the holster and hate the fliptop thing. I recently lost the first tmobile holster I bought when I first got my Pearl a year ago so I bought this one Blackberry Pearl Cases - Messina Vertical Sport Holster . Its not bad. Also I used a box cutter to remove the stupid flap.

it has nothing to do with RIM actually. RIM puts together the package and the carrier decides on the accessories. If the carrier wants to make an extra $30 they would ask for the case not to be included.

But the holsters/sleeves that come with each device are branded with RIM or Blackberry. I would imagine the carrier would want them branded with their company name. And all the 8xxx devices comes with sleeves. You mean to tell me all carriers decided sleeves were the way to go?

The models from RIM with no branding may or may not have any case at all in the box.

That last statement is unclear. All the devices are made by RIM. And where are you getting this information form, that it is the carriers option on what to package with the device? Source?

devices not released to carriers and kept in RIM stock may or may not have any accessories in the packaging.

Carrier says "We want to sell our own case with clip", Rim says "okay, no problem, we will throw in a leather pouch to protect the device on the off chance the end user doesnt purchase a case. Now, lets move on to what authentic accessories you want..." *lays out 50 possible accessories* Carrier picks 5, leaves the rest

So I should just believe every post on here? That is a silly comment. Maybe you and Sith are friends or whetever, but I don't know him anymore than I know any other posters on here, admins or not.

dont take it on face value just think about it from a business point of view. if people want clips, and its not in the box, they go out in buy it, basically getting an extra $30 worth of revenue for the device.

Suit yourself. Was just trying to help out, but I see you know it all. So good luck and happy surfing. FYI, I just talked to sith for the first time yesterday. I am just telling you what I know from being around awhile.
