I have had mixed results with the encryption mode of the media card (under Options -> Media Card). I didn't play with it a LOT, but seemed like if I had it set to something other than 'None' I couldn't put the card into another device and read it.
However, if I put the card in a microSD card reader and then into a slot on my PC (or USB) I was able to view the files.
Haven't played with a lot, though.....
