Default Slow email delivery

Hello everyone this is my first post here! I just got a blackberry pearl 8130 with Verizon Wireless. My question today is, is there a way to have my email update on my blackberry quicker? I have a apple computer and use a @mac.com email address and all my emails are coming to my blackberry but there is quite a delay between when I get emails on my computer and when they show up on my blackberry. Thank you for your replies!

Except for Google Mail and Yahoo Mail, the normal delivery delay on BIS is about 15 minutes...I believe the schedule is that once you get one email in a 15 minute polling period, the polling changes to 2 minutes until you miss that window (no email arrives) and you go back to 15.

You could create a Gmail account, set up the reply-to in the gmail account to match your mac email account, and then forward emails from your mac account to the gmail account. Then you'd get as close to immediate as possible on a BIS.

yeah, it is annoying and was the only disapointing thing. at first i thought it was my isp's issues but the answer seems to be that is intentional on the part of BB or whoevever handles the BIS server. how much more does it cost to use BES? can anyone use BES?

You can search on hosted BES options...it's not cheap, but I don't know the pricing.

Why not use the Gmail option...totally free, transparent to you and the people emailing you once you set up the forwarding/reply-to addresses, and gets you "immediate" email arrival on your Pearl.
