Default SIM contacts dont import properly into 8100

Please Login to Remove!

i have recently got myself a pearl 8100 but i have a lot of issues with the sim contacts. when i turn the phone on and go into setup wizard, i can import sim contacts and then copy to address book. it all seems to work fine but when i check the sim contacts after this....the last 5-6 added numbers arent there. if i look into the sim card directly from the phone the numbers are there but they just dont import.

at firstm i could resolve this by turning the phone off, taking out the battery, then starting it back up. it would then import the newly added contact/number. this has now stopped and they just dont import at all.

can anyone help please?

Welcome to the forums, JET-33

If it's just a matter of 5-6 numbers, just add them manually. The sim card contact list is quite archaic compared to the address book the BB has.

the main reason i want it to import them is because i like to keep all my numbers on the simcard.....that way i can have backups and if the phone fails, i still have my numbers.

is there a way to have it function as it should?

Have you tried going into the address book, hitting menu, selecting sim phone book and transferring from there?

I have a small list of the most necessary numbers stored on my sim card just in case I'm in a bind and need to use my sim in a standard cell phone but the address book is a much better app than the phone book on the sim. So you can have John Clark-home, mobile, fax, etc. in one entry. On the sim card you can only store one number with one name. Then just keep a current backup or sync with Outlook.

My guess is there is a corruption or something the BB doesn't like in one or all of those particular contacts that is preventing it from transferring over.
