I was just wondering when it comes to e-mail does it matter that your phone is branded to one provider and you want to use it with different provider?

I'm about to purchase a 8100 Pearl, but I would like to make sure that I can use e-mail feature before I go ahead and buy it.

No, as long as the phone is unlocked it will work as long as you subscribe to a data plan. They are quite expensive with Rogers so check into that first.
