Default Security Options

I tend to change my BB from having it password protected and not password protected, depending on where I am or what I am doing. Every time I switch the setting (security options/general settings/password) from disabled to enabled, it asks me for a new password which I have to enter 2x. Is there any way to create a permanent password so I do not have to keep entering in a "new" password every time I enable/disable my password protection?

No, that's just how it works. No way around it.
