Default HELP PLEASE- My phone is randomly deleting my messages and call logs

Please Login to Remove!

My blackberry pearl has now decided to randomly select messages in my inbox to delete. It happens every few weeks, last month it did the same thing with my call log. I tried ALT LGLG and cleared the log but it is still doing it. I am becoming FRUSTRATED and ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks =]

Check your free memory by going to Options >Status. Note the amount of "file free." Then a battery pull is the first fix.

Why is my BlackBerry losing its call logs or message logs? - BlackBerryFAQ.com

How do I free up memory on my device? - BlackBerryFAQ.com

Additional information on memory leaks on the 8100 - BlackBerryFAQ.com

and definitely read over this:

That should keep ya busy for a while (as well as fix your problem.)

Whoa! You are in serious trouble! Pull your battery while the device is on. Report the same thing after please (file free - It will be much higher I hope!). You may have read those links but did you follow the instructions? Deleting un-used languages, etc?

We want to help!

With the bb turned on, remove the battery cover and remove the battery for 5 seconds and then put it back in

a couple of minutes is normal.

Yes, post the number. It will be higher and then you need to go back and follow the instructions in the links above. Really, you do.

And yes, please report the new number. I am just guessing here but I am presuming that you don't have a Media Card and that you are storing music, ringtones and pictures on the phone?

10 Meg's free. That's a start. Read up on those links and you can easily end up with 30 Mb free. That will pretty much solve your problems. A regular battery pull (weekly, at least) will also help.

And if you don't like pulling the battery search for a program called "SoftRest" by Metsfan, it's a small program that will allow you to re-boot your Pearl without pulling the battery. As John stated you will need to do this at least weekly to keep all of that memory (You are going to gain through the steps in the links) nice and fresh.

The good news is if your follow the steps you will not lose your call logs and messages again!

You are very welcome! And for future reference I am guessing it's at 13MB.
(13,000,000) Anything below 16MB 16,000,000 is trouble. I always keep mine above 18MB.

And don't be a stranger around the forums!
