Default Calendar Sync Issue

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8130 from Verizon, using BIS cause my workplace charges to use BES and I'm being a bum and don't want to pay them right now. We use Groupwise 7, and I had the email setup to go over the air and was using Desktop Management Software to sync everything else. Everything was working fine until earlier this week when I noticed I had duplicate entries for a few of my calendar items. Since I am in the playing around phase with the phone I just decided to clear the calendar database and re-sync with Groupwise. Now, however, the calendar will not re-sync. Everything else will connect and sync, but it does not even attempt to open the calendar to compare what is on the phone to what is in Groupwise. If that is the only item you try to sync, it doesn't even modify the logfile.

Well, I did a little digging and found the following error message in the PtTrace.log file for Intellisync:

Error 0x83110005.-2096037883.0 at .\syncconfigmanager.cpp line 1137
Error Failed to load CXLServer1.dll from the product directory..4005 at .\callback.cpp line 3610

I played with it a little bit, making sure the dll was registered and nothing worked, so I installed the Desktop Management Software on my other computer, and am getting the same error. My guess is that the database on the phone is corrupt, but no matter how many times I clear it, it doesn't work. Has anyone run into this type of error before? If so, what steps did you take to resolve the problem?

I'm going to attempt getting support from Verizon/Blackberry, but I have found that most companies these days abhor talking to someone on the phone and if I am going to have to type my problem I might as well ask some experienced people first :P

Thanks in advance.

Default Problem Solved

Browsing some new posts I found the answer to the issue. Apparently this is a problem that a few people have had. The solution is to simply remove all of the CICAL service books for all other email addresses but the one you are syncing (or, my guess is to be sure it's the first one on the list). Mine worked fine until I added a Blackberry Email address to the list, which happened to be the account right after my Work email and the calendar I was trying to sync. As soon as I deleted the old accounts it picked up the changes and updated the address book.

Sounds like a problem I had once. Check Options>Advanced Options>Default services, and ensure your desired Groupwise email account is set for your Calendar (CICAL) option.

That could fix your problem outright.

If that doesn't help, you can try using the Backup option in Desktop Manager to clear the calendar database on your BB, and then sync again.
I've had sync failures where sync would get stuck part way through, and below always fixed it...this doesn't sound like your issue, but doing below will clean out any calendar entries or mish-mash that is on your BB so you can start clean.

Connect your BB, open DM, run the Backup App, select Advanced, select the Calendar database on the right side of the window and select Clear, select the Calendar All database and clear it as well.

Return to main window of DM and try another sync.

Default "Operation terminated unexpectedly" when synching BB with Outlook calendar

I have a Blackberry Curve, and my provider is Telus, and I'm getting the same error. I'm using Desktop Manager 4.2 to sync with my Outlook calendar. I'm not syncing address book or tasks or anything else, so it is the calendar causing the issue.

The issue...
I sync, and the message box says that it's reading the device entries - no problem. Then it starts reading my Outlook entries, and it gets to record X (currently it's #27, but it sometimes changes), then I get a popup that says "The operation terminated unexpectedly".

When I first encountered this problem I was able to resolve it by resetting my sync configuration. After doing this successfully a number of times, it stopped fixing the problem, so I uninstalled/reinstalled the software a couple of times. This didn't work. I found a post suggesting I rename my Intellisync folder (C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry), and once I did this I was able to sync again!

But now my issue is back, and resetting the config doesn't work, and renaming/deleting the Intellisync folder doesn't work either. I've tried backing up and clearing my calendar DB on my BB, but the issue seems to be with an Outlook entry, so syncing still fails with the same error. I've also deleted several outlook entries around what I think is #27 - no luck.

How can I debug this issue? Can you help me please?
Thanks!
Ali

Default Blackberry 9000 Sync Issues

I have a similar problem to yours with my BB Bold. The Desktop Manager fails to connect to the BB and the PtTrace.log file has these lines:

Thu Jan 08 23:27:46 2009: Error 0x83110005.-2096037883.0 at .\syncconfigmanager.cpp line 1137
Thu Jan 08 23:27:47 2009: Error Failed to load CXLServer1.dll from the product directory..4005 at .\callback.cpp line 3610
23:27:50.033: File .\LNOptions.cpp, Line 2043, Msg The Lotus Notes mail, server, or location settings have changed. Updating configuration.

Can you or anyone please tell me how to solve this?

Hi,

I had the same issue and I spent hours and hours on it. I tried everything, clean install of Windows, Wipe Device, Reset Synchronization, Downgrading Desktop Manager, Device Software and finally I wiped my Bold and removed all 3rd party applications.

I'm a Facebook junkie and there is a version "1.5" that is out. It has a couple of cool features, and one of them being to "synchronize" your Calendar, Contacts and Tasks with the FB online. Another great feature is that it prevents you from syncing your calendar with Outlook or Lotus Notes.

I removed the app, deleted the Intellisync folder, reset synch and presto it worked. I have now installed the tested version from Facebook(1.2) and all is good.

Now if you dont have FB v1.5 installed, try wiping the device and all applications and start fresh. I hope this helps

Well this is all helpful. My BB will not sync with Groupwise calendar but I noticed that I had installed Facebook 1.5 and CICAL was defaulted to Facebook. I'm going to try tomorrow at work on my PC. The problem may have been created by FB 1.5!!
