well i have tried a few times to get the email working and nada, is there any way i know that i have the BB plan?

It can take hours for the service to be pushed through to your blackberry. I imagine it has happened by now and you received the notifications on the blackberry from t-mobile, and you see the blackberry browser icon, etc. If not, do a hard reset. You might need to go options > advanced options > host routing table > register now. If afterward you still do not not have service, call t-mobile customer service. That is my recommendation.
