phone freezes....

whenever i try to delete more then one sms text at a time the phone just freezes and i have to pull the battery is there a way to fix this without deleting every message one at a time...not to sure if deleting the messages is any benefit to the phones performance considering i have quiet a

Are you sure it's freezing and not just taking a long time to delete a lot of messages? Sometimes it can take several minutes to delete many messages.
