Has anyone used their 8100 as a modem? Is tethering necessary?
What system works best, Windows or Vista? I use AT&T with an unlimited internet plan and have good coverage at home.
I'd greatly appreciate any feedback.

Tethering=modem connection. I use tethering with my VZW BB 8130 and it works great. I get average speeds of 600-700 kbps. A $10 add-on is required for this to work with Verizon, not sure about AT&T.

Windows XP works better than Windows Vista for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING!

I have tethered my 8100 with my XP Tablet and Rogers - works fine except I can't get it to work with my VPN.
