I've used the "Off" profile and I even created a "Silent" profile where all the sounds have been set up, but no matte what, when I press a number on the keyboard, it makes the tone sound. Is there a way to shut that off?

There is no way to disable the Keytone for dialing. A lot of folks really want this so maybe in the future we will have this option. For now you are stuck with it.

That sucks. I was mad enough about the shutter sound. I find it quite stupid that RIM is found this, so hopefully the next update will allow us to disable the sounds.

Don't count on it being fixed an time soon this has been an issue for a few years...

And no one can create a program for it because its root-level access, which RIM doesn't grant, correct? Since the vibrate profile does not have a key tone, might it be possible to change vibrate in the profile to no sounds?

There is a workaround, you can use it. Or just don't dial the phone when you shouldn't.

Quiet also has no key tones...

Are you sure about this? If so, it must be the new 8130 OS. The keys on all other model make tones even in silent mode.

JS...can't you also just dial from your address book by selecting the entry? Mine doesn't produce keypad tones when I do.
