SMS from Blackberry to PC

Heres a Question i cant find, does anyone know how you would get your text messages from your phone sent to your computer and have the ability to reply back from the computer. maybe by bluetooth are something??

I use Pidgin. I can enter a phone number as a buddy, and they receive via SMS while I type in my IM client.

Through which service do you do this? I have pidgin also. I have MSN, Yahoo & Myspace set up on it.

JSanders 01-29-2008 01:47 PM

My numbers are set in AIM, in Pidgin.

Cujo, do you want to forward text messages you have already received on your BB to your PC?

If not, could you be a little more helpful in explaining what it is that your want to do?

yes sorry, i want to be able to forward text to my pc from my bb. then if there is a way to reply to those text messages from my pc. is that possible?

so if someone texts my bb it automatically goes to my computer any suggestions?

JSanders 01-31-2008 02:22 PM

Not automatically that I know of.

You can do it one by one, open the Text and select menu to forward as.

Or you can backup your BB, and use a third party software to open and view the backup IPD file which is created.

Cujo, I feel you there. I'm going to take a guess that you've come from the Winblows Mobile world (as I have). For WM they have a product call Jeyo Mobile Extender which interfaced with Outlook in a very slick manner. Essentially, you would sync and your sms messages would show up as another mailbox. There you could read any message you want either received or sent. If you got a new message, it would show up and then you could reply from your keyboard and the message would be sent via your phone (thus be saved in your phone's sent msg folder). They also have Mobile companion, if you don't use Outlook. I really like my blackberry now but terribly miss this functionality. I really wish RIM would develop this or play ball with Jeyo to offer it to blackberry (They offer it to WM/Symbian/Nokia).

It was also a great way to blow through hundreds of SMS messages in one sitting. LOL Here's a link to that program if anyone is interested: Jeyo, Inc. - Jeyo Mobile Extender

claims it and allow you to send and receive sms messages to and from your pc while connected but can get it to work. this is where i found it.

agblackberry, your question has been answered in the other thread.

Please don't double post your questions in the forums.

Thanks, Good luck!
