Default Blackberry Pearl Security lock & car kits

Please Login to Remove!

Ok I am 2 weeks into BB Pearl ownership and finally took the plunge to go for BB and phone functionality in one device rather than a separate BB and phone

I love the BB Pearl but I have one niggle which relates to use with a Bluetooth car kit.

Is there any way to stop the devices security lock and backlight switching off when it is plugged into a cigarette power lead?

I can't use the phones voice dial function when the security lock is on as it disables the easy key.

I tried the Autolock utility but this does not seem to do want I need.

Theres a free application out there that allows you to keep you BB screen on when connected to a power source. It does other tasks also and it's free.

I'll have to look around for it or maybe someone else on here can provide a link.

you could try this program - download OTA from your berry.
type this into your browser: (the address - hover mouse over link to see address to use)

BlackBerryTools OTA

choose the bblight option

Thanks ,tried both the Autolock and BBlight applications without success. I can't tell that the Autolock is working at all and the BBlight keeps the light on until the security timeout ends and then the lbacklightight flashes on and off every few seconds it does not disable the security time out.

I think this must be an IT security policy set up at my companies BES ender.

Any other ideas.
