Trouble with BlackBerry Messenger I can't seem to be able to send voice notes over BB Messenger but my friend with the same phone and plan is able to over hers. Any known ways to resolve this? |
mrrotc... you do have a BB Data Plan? |
yes unlimited messaging and data plan |
BlackBerry Data Plan? Can you send a normal BBMessenger message to your friend? |
yes i can. i can also send pictures and audio files. but for some reason i can not send voice notes. i can't even save my voice notes on my phone *even though i don't really know if that is possible* |
and i also have this under my plan BBRYBISUNL so I believe that is my data plan |
ok, you have a good plan... just wanted to verify. Does your voice Recorder work at all? Have you tried pulling the battery (with the BB powered on) replace and reboot. |
yes. from what i was told by my friend just sign into bbm and then hit the bb button and its under send file. yet i don't have that option. i was thinking quite possibly my blackberry 8100 software might be out of date but i thought it was unlikely. i will try removing the battery right now and see where i go from there. |
still the same after the reboot. the voice recorder application works on my phone. but i can only send it as an mms |
hmmm... I just don't know. My wife has the 8100 Pearl, but she is asleep and i can't go grab it and look, lol. I know my 8310 has that option in BBM. |
can you send voice notes in a standard PIN message? |
If it's like my 8320 I can only MMS directly from the voice notes menu. However, if I use the BBMessenger option for recording a voice note it will let me send using BBMessenger. |
honestly idk even know how to send a standard pin message i just started bbm today and i've had my phone for months but no one i knew had a blackberry so i really couldn't test it out |
go to messages, send PIN, pick a contact, type a message with subject, send |
and before it comes up Send Address should be the only option available, but I am trying to see if somehow he has the option there  |

try updating your software. the 8100 forum has a direct link to the newest download, see if that helps you. |

Did you download the device OS from the Sticky Note at the top of this 8100 section? Did you delete the vendor.xml file as directed in the instructions? |
yes to both and it didn't automatically prompt me to upgrade my bb |
