Default Flashlight randomly turns off, and on! - 02-02-2008, 10:53 AM

Hello all,

I have a pearl 8120 with the latest OS (the one from italy carrier, on the sticky).

Anyways my pearl at some point turned its flashlight on.... And nothing could turn it off!!

Even after a battery pull, the flash light turned on directly after i put the battery back (while the OS was still loading)

and then after a few minutes, it turned off.

and on the next day it turned on for a couple of mins then turned off again..

I've had this isse within the past 2 days only, and i've been using my pearl for over 3 months.

Any ideas?

(And by the way, does anyone know how can i find put the APN and username/password of MTN network in yemen? i'm there on a visit and their customer support is not into technicalities like this)

Wirelessly posted (8800: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8310/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

What is the flashlight? Do you mean the LED in the upper right corner? Or the camera flash on the backside?

sorry I didn't clarify.

What I meant was the camera flashlight.

Something is wrong with it. I would try a software update. Check the stickies at the top of the 8100 forum and update if you're not on the latest available. If it still does it then you have a hardware problem.

does it matter what application you are in when this happens? Go into the video camera app and hit menu > video light > always off
