| Call log clears itself Please Login to Remove! OK, for starters, I'm a new BB user, about 4 days. I'm pretty good at figuring things out (most of the time), but this thing (8130) does things on its own. First off, it has twice cleared the call log. I read about freeing up memory, deleting stuff I don't need, etc. I did all that and it just cleared the last 3 days of calls. I did take some pics, about 5, just fooling around before I noticed the log cleaned out. I had 'save messages' set to 'forever' after the first time, it still did it.
Secondly, there is no 'call voicemail' icon the user guide refers to. Is there different icons on different models? I just have a 'messages' icon.
This was weird; I called the phone from my home to check my voicemail greeting and leave a message so I could see the prompt on the screen. My BB rang, but there was no 'ringing' sound from the phone I was calling from, and it never went to voicemail, but the BB said I missed a call. I turned off the BB, tried again, and it went straight to voicemail fine. I turned the BB back on, got the message, tried again with it turned on and it rang in the other phone and went to VM after 6 rings.
If anybody can explain some of this goofy shit, that would be great! I love my BB so far, I just want to understand it better!

| It still sounds like you may be running low on memory. Please go into Options (icon) -> Status and post back the File Free number.
and welcome to the forums!

| you need to have at least 5-10 times that free space.
follow this link http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ee-memory.html
Do you have a media card? if no, how many images/ringtones do you have stored on the device

| I went to that other page, and I appreciate the help, but thats a little over my head. This problem isn't huge, just a little annoying. I was hoping for a simple fix, if there is one. | | Offline

| Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8130/4.3.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104)
You should make sure your music and pictures are all on your memory card.
Depending on the picture resolution, they can be around 1M each. Not sure about the songs.

| yes, launch Roxio Media Manager. You will see two sets of folders on the bottom, Device and Memory Card. Copy all the images/ringtones from Device to the PC, then back down to media card. then delete all the images/ringtones from the device. | | Offline

| That's 1.7M. You want at least 14M or so free. Are there any other media files you can move to the card?
Go into Options (icon) -> Status, press the Menu button (with the dots on it) and click on Database Sizes. Do you see any that have a 4 or more digit K size?

| also, have you done a battery pull recently? and have you run the setup wizard? If not, run the setup wizard and then do a battery pull to remove all the unused languages, should free up about 8mb. | | Offline

| Ok, let's look at the applications and themes you have installed.
Go into Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications. List the apps you have that do not start with 'Blackberry'
Next go into Options -> Theme. What are the theme names that you see?

| Have you done a hard reboot (pull battery while device is on, then put it back in after 10 seconds)? If so, what is the free space now?
That's not too many apps/themes, btw.
