Is this a Blackberry or Gmail setting?

I have my gmail account linked up to my 8130. I noticed that sometimes when I send an email from my gmail account on the PC, a few minutes later my blackberry gets a new message alert. The message is basically the email I sent out from my computer. Why is this happening?
