I was on here the other night and got some help freeing up memory (my call log kept clearing), and was just reading another thread about memory being used by apps running in the background.

I know you can get back 'home' using different buttons, but how can you tell if you actually closed the app, or what may still be running and using memory?

Press the Alt key (two keys left of 0) and the Back Key (right of trackball) and you'll get the equivalent of Alt-Tab in Windows.

Keep in mind that there are some apps that will always show in the app switcher - Messages, Phone, Browser, and Messenger.

And the color app will stay.If installed. When i do this as soon as i let go of the button it goes to whatever app the cursors on is there a way to stop it and let me scroll through em then click the one i want or is that just how it is?

Use the trackball to scroll, or press the Back key repeatedly until the program you want is highlighted.

There are memory leak issues reported linked to using this feature, so keep an eye on our memory if you use it a lot.

On my Pearl I have the application switcher assigned to one of the hotkeys on the side. That brings up the switcher and it stays till you select an app or hit escape.
