Hi I am new to the world of blackberry and so far I love it. I am a little confused about GPS with the 8120.

Can someone clarify for me whether or not the 8120 has a GPS built-in.

I have not been able to find any mention of a GPS on the blackberry site (although there really isn't much information at all for the 8120 on the BB site).

I downloaded google maps and it approximates by location although it always seems to be about 1700 meters away from my real location.

So my first question is does my 8120 have a GPS?
And secondly, If not, how does google approximate my location?

Thanks.

Matt

The 8120 does not have GPS.

Google approximates your position using cell tower triangulation.

1. no built-in GPS on the 8120.

2. it uses a cell tower triangulation to determine the area you are in

Default Thanks.

Thanks for the responses. That's what I was starting to suspect.
