memory card issues just got my wife a 8100 and am setting it up how come when you plug it in the computer it beeps and makes the connection sound but there is nothing showing on my computer even on the desktop manager it does not recagnize the 2 gig memory card.I can format it from the phone but that is it.As far as I know I have tried changing all of the setting to no avail.also how do you get the trackball color change to work? my comp won't recagnize the file type Many thanks |

Ya I tried it with the settings either way and it still doesn't want to recagnize it |
what if you put the card in when its no plug into your computer? did in put the memory in and then try to also do the battery pull to reset the phone and see if that helps? i just installed and once i put the sd card in the phone it read it asap. i also shut the phone down and did the battery pull just to make sure everything updated. |
ya its still a no go I must be missing something cause this should be simple, the computer beeps and id's the blacjberry but when you go in my comp there is nothing there, and in the desktop manager it will only allow you to save to the phone the card isn't listed HELP!! Thanks |
just out of curiousity is the card encryption set to yes? try changing it to no. |
so I had my pearl to 3 different shops today and everyone told me that if it is a t mobile phone that the memory card has been locked out by blackbery at tmobiles request so you have to buy there ringtones etc and there is no way to hack it.BUT I played around and found that if you put the memory card into your computer and convert all your ringtones to WAV files then the phone will recagnize them and you can add them as ringtones.so the crappy part is you have to take the phone apart but at least it equals free ringtones! I guess if you are buying a blackberry online make sure it wasn't from tmobile (unlocked or not) Hope this helps |
