Can A Pearl Bought in Canada Work Anywhere? Hi! The Pearl is such a great device that carriers around the world charge an arm and a leg for it. Is it possible to buy a genuine open line (unlocked) pearl from a RIM store in Canada for use in Asia? My carrier scares me by saying the IMEI# won't match. Are open line BBPearl devices sold on an open line basis by RIM, the same way that Nokia does? If all the answers to my queries are no, then how can I have my device unlocked? Thanks, all. |
There are no RIM stores... Berries are only sold by tha carriers or by third party distributors... Don't worry about what your carrier says.... just activate with any IMEI and pop your SIM inside... |
Thanks! Apt quote too. |
There are RIM stores...BB has started opening retail outlets. There was a post here a while back on it. RIM opens BlackBerry retail store - FierceCIO:TechWatch - Tech Headlines, Technology News Articles, IT Reviews |
Thanks for this new info! |
But they are STILL only selling devices through the carriers. The stores are not selling unlocked or unbranded devices. |
