How do I send pictures that I have stored in my phone as an sms text to one of my contacts in my address book?

You send them as an MMS.

yea but what sux about the mms feature is that if your add multiple recipients for the mms message it shows all the recipients in the send field and then everyone can see who it was sent to. why is that? when u send mass sms it sends a separate sms to each recipient.

You can add BCC on a MMS. Just click the menu button and then click add BCC. As long as you add everyone as a BCC no one will see anyone else.
