I have pearl from cingular/at&t which is running on 4.2.0.71 and has been unlocked (i asked for the unlock code from at&t and received it) I want to update to 4.2.1.154.
1. is it safe to update the phone since it has been unlocked?
2. can i run the update procedure on a mac?

1. The unlock will not be undone by an upgrade.

2. The operating system installer and desktop manager are .exe. See the mac forum for advice on your options. I'm not much more help on this question. EDIT: See 8700 upgrade to RIM 4.2 possible through mac? which may give you a lead.
