Multiple personal emails set up- changing one changes both?
 

That wasn't a very clear title, but let me explain: I have set up two separate gmail addresses in the BIS. I have two separate icons in the Apps, one for each gmail address. When I go into the first address, call it , and press Menu->Options->Email Settings, the address shows as . OK, that's right. But then I click on the second icon in the apps, . Press Menu->Options->Email Settings, and it shows ! And here's the rub- if I change it to the right address, . it changes the email address in both accounts! I will go back into the ben1 icon, and in Email Settings it's been changed to . Change it in one place, it changes it in both places. It's not downloading my mail properly now- if the ben1 icon has the address listed it will download the ben1 messages, but since the ben2 icon also has the address, it's not downloading anything.

I have not set up an @att.blackberry email address, I didn't think I needed to do that. Any help would be appreciated.

I think you lost me....what exactly are you trying to change?

I change settings for both of my BIS accounts under the Messages icon, not under the individual icons (I don't think it makes a difference, though).

I don't want to have all my emails from all my addresses coming into 'Messages', so I have run the 'Setup Personal Email' wizard twice, to set up two separate personal email addresses. Now I have two separate icons in the applications, one for each personal email address. But changing the email address behind one of them in the Email Settings (within that icon) changes the email address for both of them.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the purpose of those two separate icons? When I roll over them they show the correct email addresses as the Application names...

There is no way to make email stop going to the Messages icon. ALL email, PIN, SMS/text messages go there.

Yeah, I thought so. So I'm not using the Messages icon at all. I thought by using those individual email icons instead I could keep separate inboxes...no?

Yes, the separate email icons will separate your email by account.

I'm still not sure I understand what you're trying to change..... are you trying to change your default email address?

no, I just want the two icons to properly download the two different email accounts...right now they seem like they can only have the same email address associated with them.

Maybe the Options->Email Options is changing this 'default email address'? That should only control the default 'from' address, but I should still be able to set different addresses for the two separate icons, right?

I think I know what you are talking about because I noticed the first week I got my BlackBerry, if you run the setup and configure 2 seperate email accounts you will have nothing to worry about. The 2 different icons seperate the emails.

If you go into one of your inbox's and go options then email settings then in message services it shows you the same email address no matter which inbox you go into. That is nothing to worry about and I wouldn't mess with it either lol.
