Default pearl question

ok so im planning on buying the pearl from at&t .com and my question is

to send/recieve text messages do i have to have a media bundle other than my 1500 text messges?

also this is my first BB and i was wondering if this phone will a pain in the rear?

you can send and receive SMS/Text messages with no data plan. MMS requires some kind of data access. Not quite sure what you mean by the phone being a pain in the rear, care to elaborate?

For SMS, no data or media package is required.

BlackBerrys are great for what they are intended. They are not built for purely SMS, and you might find another device that does a better job at SMS.

For email, you won't find a better device.

well right now i have a sony ericson that i hate, and i was wanting to make sure i wasnt going to be buying a phone that will be breaking alot, or have a lot of trouble, with turning off, bad battery life, wont accept music, awful camera, bad speaker phone, and just all toghther awful for sending and recieving texts

you have 30 days with AT&T, try it out. if you dont like it exchange for another.
