I just got my peral not even 2 weeks ago. And when i try to scoll up it goes up and comes back down. Its like the pearl is messed up. I pulled it apt and see if it was dirty nope not at all. SO i am going to bring it down to VZ and see what they can do. My question is i have the newest os on it will VZ get all mad about this? Will they still fix the phone? Do i need to downgrade to the orginal os?

They should be just fine with working on the device.

There is the risk however that if they can't figure out what the problem is with the trackball they might try to blame it on the OS... Best bet is to not let them know you have a different OS, they probably won't be able to tell unless you let them know.

should i just down grad to the factoryu os?

If I remember right you said verizon.. could be wrong but hey.

If it IS verizon, you know what they would tell you if you went back and "downgraded" and they noticed?
"You need to install the latest firmware, so lets wait a 1/2 hour while we do that now"

Don't go back. It just causes more problems. Just don't be like OH I upgraded firmware! Don't ask, Don't tell ;)
I had a razr v3m with them, hacked it all the time (changed the front screen from orange, the ERI Banner, stuff like that)

Just don't tell em, they rarely notice. They DO check for latest firmware, but that is their way of getting out of warranty replacements. "Oh, it was just that you had an older version, try this and come back with problems"

You can't tell the OS version just by looking at the Pearl, so unless they go looking, and shouldn't for what sounds like a hardware issue, I wouldn't be too concerned.

I was on a support call w/VZW on an issue, and the agent asked me if I had tried upgrading the OS. So I don't think that they believe that is something their customers have to avoid.

You are more likely to get into problems if they know you "pulled it apart" - that's the kind of info you should not share with them.
