Default Inbox sync question

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

My company is considering moving to BlackBerry (we now all use PocketPC). They gave me a Pearl 8100 to try out. We are running BES and MS Exchange. BES and phone are brand new, so I assume latest software versions (phone is v4.2.0.67).
Now, my Pearl receives emails, no problem here. Under options I selected the BB should only sync my Inbox, no other folders or sent items. The problem is, only 8 messages are on the phone... When message nr. 9 comes in, the first one disappears. My boss is trying out a Curve, set up the same and he doesn't seem to have the problem. I'm not 100% sure this has been like this from the beginning, as I have been messing with it a lot and also installed the latest desktop manager.
I only want my Inbox to show up on the BB, but I want all of it. How can I fix this? Also, is there a way to get the messages I had in my Inbox before I got the BB on the BB?

Thanks a lot!

4.2.0.67 is a very old software version for the Pearl.
There are much newer ones available. You can find them stickied at the top of the 8100 forum area.

Check your free memory on the device. If it's low, it could explain why you're seeing odd message disappearances.
Options > Status > File Free = ?

No, you can't get all of the old messages delivered to your BlackBerry.
That's not how BlackBerry works.

If you remove your account from BES, and then re-add it... you may be able to get some old messages on your device based on the BES pre-population settings. Maximum would be 14 days or 750 messages... whichever is reached first.

Thanks, looks like my memory is full (it says 0). I moved some pictures and ringtones to the memomy card, is there any way to free up more memory?

Some pictures and ringtones?
You should move ALL pictures and ringtones to the memory card.
Device memory is sacred.

See here for more memory saving info:
