I just recently bought a memory card for my pearl 8130. As far as I know I have it formatted correctly. When the phone is plugged into the comp, I am able to easily transfer files. The card is also recognized in the desktop manager. I tried transferring songs into the music folder and it shows up on the comp, but when I unplug the phone from the comp, there is no music on the phone. Am I supposed to be accessing the memory card a different way, or do should it show up if i go to the BB menu and go to media?

Go to your Media Player, and Music. Do you see the songs?
What format music are you transferring?

Under media player and music, the songs do not appear. On the comp, I'm transferring songs from my itunes music folder to the music folder on the memory card.

Is the BB unplugged from the USB? You have to unplug the USB to see them music on Media Card.

Also, iTunes music that is DRM won't play on the BB.

Digitally Rights Managed. Were they purchased from iTunes?

Try the ones uploaded from a CD.

You can't play songs purchased from iTunes, as noted.

You can play songs ripped from CDs, or you can make a CD from your iTunes songs, then rip that CD back into your iTunes library as MP3s, and play those on the Blackberry.

That's why I haven't bought songs online in a few years...I am NOT getting locked into any industry/company DRM. All of mine are ripped from my CDs, and you can purchase some DRM-free music on iTunes and other vendors now.

If you want ease of portability and "use anywhere" freedom, iTunes and other DRM-based sources are a black hole. (I know there are tools out there that can strip DRM, but I don't need the additional hassle.)
