You can play songs ripped from CDs, or you can make a CD from your iTunes songs, then rip that CD back into your iTunes library as MP3s, and play those on the Blackberry.
That's why I haven't bought songs online in a few years...I am NOT getting locked into any industry/company DRM. All of mine are ripped from my CDs, and you can purchase some DRM-free music on iTunes and other vendors now.
If you want ease of portability and "use anywhere" freedom, iTunes and other DRM-based sources are a black hole. (I know there are tools out there that can strip DRM, but I don't need the additional hassle.)
