| call log mysteriously wiped on BB 8130 (Alltel) Please Login to Remove! My call log was mysteriously wiped clean the other day. Also noticed that none of my e-mails were now on the device from before the time I think that my device "crashed".
I have Device Software Version 4.3.0.81.
Any ideas? | | Offline

| mine actually did the same the other day..
My emails all stayed, but my call log and SMS/MMS messages were all gone o.0
Seemed to happen every time my back light turned off, and continued for about an hour.. and then it randomly just stopped
Not sure what it was though. I'm thinking maybe it had something to do with the RIM server crash or whatever that was that happened Monday? It seems kind of weird, because mine happened I think Wednesday, but hey anything is possible right?

Lol I was posting my reply same time you did yours. Oddly enough, I had no calendar appointments, I have like 5 ringtones and 6 pictures... Had 5 email, and obviously no text or call logs..
Still possible its a memory thing?

| go to options > status and check your file free. the phone will clear emails/call logs/sms/old calendar appointments/etc to keep itself running when it is low on memory | | Offline

I'm real careful about memory since my Razr. I never allow more than 50 SMS messages at a time, and about 10 emails.. Crazy, maybe. But hey, keeps crashes away :P
I'm constantly above 6000000bites (too lazy to convert.. 6mb?)
-- I think that equals 60mb... I think. I'm not a everyday math person. and that has too many 0s

Follow the link and your problems will be a thing of the past. P.S. I have over 7,000 emails and 2,000 plus SMS on my phone and still have plenty of space. | | Offline

| you have something there that is taking up memory. go into the media player with the card removed, do you see anything under pictures, ringtones, or music? and also what saved messages do you have | | Offline

| Lol no saved messages, no pictures/tones show up other than default stuff.
I think I might have found the suspect though *rolls eyes*
I don't set up my email through the config deal, I just went and got gmail..
Told it not to download all the other crap.. Guess what it did!!
I can't remember when the crash happened though so I don't remember if it coincides with google junk getting added on..
All the icons were hidden, and me being the non-pay-attention type, didn't show all and look around..
shhh we wont tell anyone ;) I'll let ya know what that bumps it up to though | | Offline

Nothing else would take up so much space. Move the media off the phone and onto the Media Card.

You probably have a ton of stuff running the background. You need to always close apps properly, Menu>End (Or Close) or use Escape. Never use the red end key as it will just put the app in the background where it will eat memory. To see what is running press and hold Alt + Escape.
