so I'd be talking to someone and then I'd want to hang up, I press the red button and a menu pops on the screen telling me " do you want to exit to the menu and continue with the call - Ok - Cancel "
and I'd have to keep pressing it or whatever to finally end the call or actually go to the menu and press end the call ....
Yes, a problem with the keybad OR the escape and red button are SO close together the user could be actually accidentally hitting the escape key, which does give the options stated above.

Do you know for a fact that the keypad is messed up? Usually the keypad is fine, it is the circuit board underneath. I said keypad earlier, but meant that in general. They keypad is really just a fancy piece of rubber, it's what's underneath that is important.

My advice, be conscious of what you press over the next few days... specifically the red end button. If your issue of the message "exit to the menu and continue with the call" continues with ONLY the red key being pressed, post back here, or contact the link above for repair. If you BB is under warranty of your carrier, call them for replacement first.
