Default trackball noise

Please Login to Remove!

I exchanged my pearl 8130 for a new one bc of the backlight and with the new one I can hear a faint clicking sound when I roll the track ball in any direction. And yes I muted the trackball sound option. It makes the sound even if the phone is off. It's a faint mechanical clicking sound. Anyone else have this? I didn't notice it on my last one.

Thanks everyone!

Adrian

That's normal. The newer trackballs have their own clicking noise. I think they are less prone to getting dirty and not working.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I concur with JC!

I like the click personally

thank you sooo much for the quick reply! Is there a way to check my manufacturing date? Seems like there is a lot of inconsistencies with the trackballs of these pearls. I have co-workers that are their 3rd and 4th ones. I want to be sure it's normal bc my 30 day exchange period is about to run out! Thanks again!

This is a mechanical click. There is also the software audio click. My trackball clicks even though it's turned off in screen/keyboard.

My old 8100 was smooth but my 8320 has a click and is rough. My wife's refurb'd white pearl has a rough/clicking trackball. It's just the way it is and I wouldn't worry about it.
